Bruce Howze, a creatively inclined loudspeaker designer working in Pennsylvania with influential bands such as Jefferson Airplane, was keenly aware that 2-way sound systems based on equipment from movie theaters were no longer viable. These had unacceptable limitations in coverage, clarity, and portability, largely due to their massive size, weight, and the lack of midrange output of their loudspeakers, a result of their limited 2-way design.
Determined to solve these problems, Howze came up with an original idea that would revolutionize the technology of live sound. To improve the clarity and coverage of loudspeakers and reduce their weight, he designed and engineered lightweight horns and enclosures from fiberglass, a radically different material for that application. This breakthrough eventually led to the foundation of Community Light & Sound in 1968 and landmark products such as the LMF, a round compression-loaded fiberglass horn driven by a 12″ cone that specifically addressed the lack of midrange output. The focus on the importance of the midrange frequencies and use of fiberglass immediately set Community apart from its competitors and became central to its ongoing legend.
After 40 years, Bruce Howze is still the Chief Engineer at Community and with his team, exciting and innovative products are still being designed and manufactured.
These days Community’s products are aimed squarely at the installed sound market. The product portfolio includes loudspeakers that can form the basis of a sound system in virtually and venue, be that a church, stadium, train station, nightclub or theatre.Visit Site
E Series redefines performance for small format column line array loudspeakers by utilising a two-way design, complex frequency shaded LF crossover networks, and the proprietary "ENTASYS" convex-curve HF to provide unrivalled intelligibility, output, and consistent beamwidth up to 16kHz
ENTASYS 200 is a versatile family of attractive, affordable, easy-to-install two-way column line-array loudspeakers for indoor and outdoor use. There are four ENTASYS 200 models ranging from the smaller ENT203 and ENT206, designed for delay fill and confined spaces, to the larger ENT212, and the extended-length ENT220, tall enough to provide solid control of the LF beamwidth without the need for additional columns or external LF extensions. All four models have well-controlled and consistent dispersion characteristics, minimizing the reflections that hinder intelligibility and performance. ENTASYS 200 loudspeakers have the sonic definition, intelligibility, and output needed to directly replace point-and-shoot loudspeakers in many applications.
Usable both indoors and out, each ENTASYS 200 model can fulfil an exceptionally wide range of applications. All models include a 70V / 100V internal low-distortion autoformer for constant-voltage applications and a pan-and-tilt mounting bracket.
The new ENTASYS FR three-way, full-range column-line-array loudspeaker system delivers true line-array performance in a compact weather-resistant package. Designed for permanent installation applications including auditoria, airports and train stations, conference centers, houses of worship, stadium concourses and museums.
ENTASYS offers high output and high power handling capability that outperforms comparable systems, boasting multiple low frequency, midrange and high frequency drivers for the most consistent coverage available, delivering a uniform, constant vertical beamwidth from 800 Hz to 16 kHz.
Each ENTASYS full-range column includes six low frequency neodymium drivers, eighteen 2.35-inch mid-range drivers and six 7-inch long x 1-inch wide planar-coupled patent-pending Compact Ribbon Emulator (CRE) high frequency elements.
ENTASYS is designed to be modular, allowing the installer to use multiple ENTASYS full-range columns and low frequency extension columns to create extremely narrow focused vertical coverage.
V Series comprises of a range of small-to-medium-sized loudspeakers that are a powerful resource for any integrator - with products ranging from a 6" two way through to a 15" three way, and a range of complementary subwoofers, V Series brings quality and performance to nearly any application at a surprisingly affordable price-point.
Available models start with the VERIS-6, a single 6" with HF driver in a compact enclosure. Next are a dual 6", a single 8", and a dual 8". These four models are each shipped with a yoke-style mounting bracket as an included accessory, and can be ordered with an optional low distortion, low insertion-loss 200W internal autoformer for 70V applications.
The larger 12" and 15" VERIS models offer a choice of large-format horns; 90º x 60º and 60º x 40º for the two-way systems and 90º x 40º and 60º x 40º for the three-way systems. Two elegant, low profile subwoofers, a dual-10" and a dual-12", round out the line with their astonishing LF performance.
VERIS offers a wide range of off-the-shelf rigging systems and mounting brackets, all engineered for quick, convenient and safe installation. All models are available in black or white at no additional charge, and are equipped with a generous number of rigging points. The full-range enclosures are additionally outfitted with OmniMountTM compatible fasteners.
VERIS. The perfect choice for stunning acoustic coverage and exceptional intelligibility. In houses of worship, conference rooms, clubs, restaurants, and anywhere else that people gather, VERIS will change the perception of what affordable, professional loudspeakers are all about.
I SERIES is an innovative family of high-power/high-output modular loudspeakers that allows designers to implement complex solutions in houses of worship, multi-purpose auditoriums, live theatres and other professional and commercial venues.
I SERIES includes point-source, high-directivity, compact and floor-monitor models in multiple performance levels, providing modular scalability for any application requirement. A suite of matching-height subwoofers, in sizes ranging from compact single 12-inch models, to ground-shaking dual 18-inch models, complements the full-range I SERIES models with powerful low-frequency extension. Optional weather-resistant versions fill the needs of sports fields, amphitheaters and other venues needing high-performance loudspeakers designed for full outdoor exposure.
I SERIES features high-output woofers that combine a variety of technologies for smooth response, exceptional intelligibility, low distortion, and minimal power compression. Two-way models have large-format compression drivers, a choice of six rotatable horns and individually-voiced, beamwidth-matched crossovers with single or biamp operation. Three-way models offer a choice of three rotatable horn patterns and biamp or triamp operation and use a combination of large-format HF compression driver and Community’s M200HP midrange compression driver – both with ketone polymer diaphragms for exceptionally smooth and uniform sound quality.
